Beef and Cattle
Grass-fed, free-range Angus and Simmental cattle
Grass-fed Beef
We produce limited quantities of grass-fed beef each year from our small herd of Angus and mixed Angus / Simmental cows. These breeds are both very hardy and can handle the cold winters in Canada. Being grass-fed they have less total fat, more heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, more conjugated linoleic acid, a type of fat that's thought to reduce heart disease and cancer risks and more antioxidant vitamins, such as vitamin E.
Of course they take a little longer to mature but then we don't like to finish them too young either so it all works out nicely. The beef is available either as half- or quarter-sides. If that doesn't pre-sell out, we have individual cuts frozen and available throughout the year. Sides are generally available once a year around October or November.
Live Calves
Heifers and steers will be available from 2018 and prices will depend on market conditions.
